Polish, German PMs discuss euro crisis over phone

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Friday talked over the phone with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the euro zone crisis ahead of the forthcoming EU summit.

Konrad Niklewicz, spokesperson for Poland's presidency of the EU, said that Tusk and Merkel were keen on seeing decisions conducive to stability on financial markets made at next week's meetings.

The phone talk was an element of regular consultations of heads of the Polish and German governments, the spokesperson said.

Brussels will on Sunday host the summit of leaders of 27 EU states, and the summit of all the 17 member states of the eurozone.
